All shows and competitions entered

The official world wide car audio organization I.A.S.C.A. (International Auto Sound Challenge Association) supplies a rule book and guide lines for such competitions. Basically it comes down to:

Personally I just enter for fun. I like the attention to my car, and I value the opinion of the judges highly. As a bonus, I'm always sure of a good parking spot! The judges are always very enthusiastic about my sound quality. The car does pretty well at RTA measurements as well (see the score forms). However when it comes to maximum volume or installation quality, I fail miserably. The system isn't any louder than 129 dB, installation is safe and doesn't violate any IASCA rules but leaves much to be desired from a cosmetical point of view. The combination of the everyday Japanese nerd mobile and the lack of ability to make noise outside the car doesn't exactly draw crowds.

The first car judged is the base for the whole day. When competing, try to get to know that car and find out how your system differs from it, emphasize that when talking to the judges. Be sure to have a photobook to show everything not visible anymore but don't show all pictures of friends, your holiday with a half finished car and the workbench! Explain what makes your car different from others, use the time for your presentation for less obvious things.
